Toddler Crying at Night Inconsolable - Will This Work For You?

Every toddler should have some quiet time every day at the same time. Even if he claims he isn't sleepy, he needs to be able to entertain himself quietly for a time. Put a few toys in his bed and say something like: "The rule in this house is that all children take a nap. You don't have to sleep, but it is quiet time."

By 2 years of age most children need only one nap a day. But if your toddler doesn't have a nap until four o'clock, remember, he probably won't go to sleep until late.

Bedtime crying is hard on a baby, hard on a family, and can be hard on a marriage. I hope these tips will be helpful for you and your family as you try to bring peace back to bedtime. This is by no means a complete list, but they can get you started on the right path.
